“Should I be doing 3, 2, or 1 semi-private training sessions per week?”
It’s a great question. The answer depends on your goals, your schedule, and the level of support you need. But there is one option that seems to be the best fit for most people, and I’ll share that with you in a minute.
Let’s break it down.
3 Semi-Private Sessions Per Week
This is for you if:
- You have very specific goals and want progress fast.
- You’re driven by a vision of your full physical and mental potential.
- Your health is your #1 priority and you’re ready to invest in it.
2 Semi-Private Sessions Per Week
This is for you if:
- You want steady coaching and constant progress, even with a busy schedule.
- You’ve dealt with a chronic injury and need a personalized program to keep you safe.
- You like having accountability without overcommitting your week.
1 Semi-Private Session Per Week
This is for you if:
- You want to maintain your fitness or focus more on conditioning.
- You’re pain-free and don’t need as much coaching hands-on.
- You’re in a transition season of life and need a realistic way to stay consistent.
There’s nothing wrong with maintaining or even holding steady until you’re ready to level up again.
What the Numbers Say
Here’s some behind-the-scenes data from our members:
- 13% of people doing 2 semi-privates per week have a chronic injury. Most are also working with trusted physical therapists, and they’re able to keep progressing safely.
- 44% of people doing 1 semi-private per week have a chronic injury (still way better than when we used to run larger group classes).
- In 2025 so far: 5 people quit with 2 or more semi-private sessions per week, while 53 people quit with less than 2 sessions.
- 18% of people doing 2 or more semi-private sessions also use our free extra workouts.
Why We Still Offer 1x/Week (When Most Gyms Don’t)
Most training facilities set their minimum at 2x per week. So why do we still offer 1?
Because consistency beats everything.
Growth in fitness is never a straight line. It’s two steps forward, one step back. But there’s one non-negotiable: you have to keep showing up.
Someone who works out 3x per week for 6 months and then falls off completely will always get beaten by someone who trains 1x per week steadily for years.
We offer free independent workouts to give our members a safe way to move more and, for some, build a little independence. These workouts are in the testing phase. We’ll only begin charging for them once we’re confident they help people stay injury-free, enjoy the process, and get real value. We’re already working on ways to make them even better.
Whether you choose 1, 2, or 3 sessions per week, the right plan is the one that helps you stay consistent in this season of your life.
Your needs may shift over time. What matters most is that you have a plan, coaching you can trust, and a community that keeps you accountable.
Our most consistent members are training twice per week. Having constant check-ins with your coach and a personalized program is the best way to make progress, stay safe, and get the highest quality for your health and fitness.
