Fill out the form to get started
Most people do not walk into Black Bear Fitness Co. feeling like a 10 out of 10.
But Peter did not even give himself a 1.
He rated his pre BBFC fitness a point five.
His words:
“One Big Mac away from the pearly gates.”
That level of self-awareness is rare. The willingness to laugh about it and still show up is even rarer.
From Avoiding the Weight Room to Owning It
Before joining BBFC, Peter had never done formal weight training. His exercise routine was limited to what he jokingly calls jumping to conclusions.
That is what we see with a lot of adults in their 40s, 50s, and 60s.
They know they should be stronger.
They know they need structure.
But the gap between knowing and doing is wide when you do not know where to start or how to stay consistent.
Peter started the same way everyone does here:
- A clear plan
- A coach watching every rep
- Personalized progressions
- A team that will not let you disappear when life gets busy
And slowly, strength turned into momentum.
Why He Chose BBFC
In true Peter fashion, he gives the credit to his wife.
“My wife nagged me mercilessly. Have you met my wife?”
We hear this often.
A partner sees the decline before you do.
They want you around longer.
They want you stronger, more capable, more confident.
But the reason Peter stayed is what matters.
When asked what keeps him coming back, he said:
“It is working.”
Straightforward. Grounded. Honest.
And absolutely true.
His wife still nags him. Just about other things now.
What Makes BBFC Different
Peter pointed to Travis and his song stylings. It is his way of saying the coaches make training fun, loud, and supportive.
But underneath the humor is something real.
Peter feels seen here.
Coached here.
Taken care of here.
He shows up because he knows exactly what to do, how to do it safely, and how it moves him forward every single week.
Advice to Anyone Who Does Not Feel Fit Enough to Start
Peter’s answer was simple:
“Watch the movie Cool Hand Luke. It is all about getting your mind right.”
He is right.
You do not start because you feel ready.
You start so you can feel ready.
Peter is proof that you can begin anywhere, even at a point five, and still build something strong that lasts.
Congratulations, Peter. You earned this.
