Fill out the form to get started
Sharon came to us wanting to get stronger. She had specific goals around balance, posture, and being able to get up and down more easily.
Over the months she has been training with us, she has gained 12 pounds of muscle and lost 11 percent body fat. Her posture is visibly different. A handbag strap that used to fall off her shoulder now stays in place because her posture has changed. She is sleeping better. She is working on getting off the floor with less assistance each week.
The numbers are real. But they are also just the surface of what is actually happening.
What Strength Training Actually Does
Rebuilds muscle you have been losing. Starting in your mid-30s, muscle mass declines at roughly 1 percent per year if you are not working against it. Progressive resistance training is the only tool that directly reverses this. Sharon gained 12 pounds of muscle. That is not a small number. That is the tissue that drives her metabolism, protects her joints, and produces her daily energy.
Improves bone density. The mechanical stress of resistance training stimulates bone remodeling. For women post-menopause this is one of the most important interventions available. Bone density does not show up in a mirror but it determines how the next 20 years feel.
Supports metabolic function. Muscle is metabolically active tissue. More muscle means a higher resting metabolic rate, better insulin sensitivity, and more efficient energy production. The body composition changes Sharon saw are a direct result of this.
Reduces chronic pain. Strong muscles support the joints they surround. Many of the aches and pains adults over 50 accept as normal are the result of muscular weakness and imbalance. Consistent strength training directly addresses these.
Improves sleep and mood. Sharon sleeps better on workout days. This is consistent with the research. Strength training is one of the most well-supported non-pharmacological interventions for sleep quality in older adults.
This Is Available to You
Sharon’s results did not come from a transformation program. They came from showing up consistently, doing the right work, and building over time.
That is available to anyone willing to start and stay with it. At any age. With any history.
